KAR OG KH Block DMCC is seeking a qualified and experienced Drilling Materials and Logistics Manager to join our team in Erbil.

Job Summary:

The Drilling Materials and Logistics Manager is an office-based role serving as the central coordination point for materials and services support across North and South Iraq assets. The position requires close collaboration with PSCM, logistics, wells operations, and engineering teams, along with periodic visits to rigs, vendors, and supply bases. The role is responsible for managing long-lead materials and developing standardized procedures to support operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Drilling Materials and Logistics team by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to health, safety, security and environmental standards, efficiency, accountability, and capability development of local staff.
  • Assign responsibilities and tasks to team members based on their skills, experience, and knowledge.
  • Monitor and report the usage of all well materials and equipment across drilling operations.
  • Take accountability for long-term planning and procurement of oil country tubular goods and wellhead equipment.
  • Act as the focal point for machine shop contracts and the manufacturing of industry-standard equipment.
  • Coordinate with wells teams on equipment planning requirements outside Iraq, including importation and logistics arrangements.
  • Prepare and manage requisitions, service orders, and contract call-offs, and support the development of scopes of work and bid lists, ensuring full tracking from initiation to close-out.
  • Act as contract account manager for in-country inspection contracts, coordinating with inspection teams to meet operational priorities.
  • Promote and embed company values of safety, respect, and excellence within the team.
  • Apply sound judgment and industry best practices to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, and escalate issues when required.
  • Foster commitment and engagement within the team to deliver operational plans and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership presence, supporting decision-making, managing risks, and encouraging innovation and workforce diversity.
  • Maintain strong situational awareness to identify potential issues early and support planning activities up to one year in advance.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor national staff in industry best practices.
  • Proven track record in procurement, supply chain management, and materials operations within large-scale upstream drilling and well intervention projects.
  • Ability to design, streamline, and implement new processes, procedures, and operational improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation standards, regulations, and logistics guidelines.
  • Extensive knowledge of well materials, including oil country tubular goods, rotary equipment, and completion equipment, and their application in drilling, well intervention, and well services operations.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, security, and environmental requirements related to logistics and large-scale drilling and completion operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong digital and computer skills, with the ability to improve and digitize processes where needed.
