KAR OG KH Block DMCC is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Well Testing & Completions Engineer to join our team in Erbil.

Job Summary:

Based in Erbil with travel to field and service locations in southern Iraq, this role is responsible for planning, designing, and executing well testing, drill stem testing, and completion operations. The position ensures all operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with approved well programs, while maintaining strong coordination with internal teams and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare DST, completion and well testing programmes for forthcoming operations in line with the approved well proposal.
  • Act as Well Testing superintendent during operations with Well Testing supervisors reporting directly to him.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including drilling and production, to ensure that project objectives are achieved.
  • Check warehouse inventory for availability of completion tools and ensure readiness.
  • Coordinate with service companies and QAQC to send completion tools for make-up accessories and readiness.
  • Prepare a detailed completion program.
  • Develop and maintain accurate completion tallies for each job.
  • Prepare and issue End-of-Well Reports.
  • Work both in office and field environments as required by operational schedules.
  • Report directly to the Well Services Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Candidate must be able to write and converse in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or a related field. Consideration will be given to experience level of the candidate.
  • Minimum of +5 years of experience in DST Tools, well completion and well testing operations.
  • IWCF level four well intervention well control certificated.
  • Strong understanding of downhole tools and completion equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Proficient in preparing operational programs and technical tallies.
  • Be able to integrate into a team which shares knowledge and experience.

Technical Experience:

Candidate should have strong experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Well construction principles and operations
  • Slickline operations
  • Coiled tubing operations
  • Well testing operations, including drill stem testing
  • Completion preparation and running activities
  • Reservoir stimulation operations
  • Triaxial stress analysis using industry software such as (Oliasoft) or (WellCat)
  • Use of (PowerDraw) or similar software to produce completion diagrams based on diagramming tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
